Mohanlal's thing was just an add on. Main story is supposed to be Srividya's and rumours has it that superstar was supposed to be Kamal Hassan. I dont have a clue about this, cause I never heard a story like that. The movie might have been dedicated to her for no reason :p

I haven't seen the movie . But there were rumours about sreevidya and kamal hassan going strong way back . Few of my friends who has seen the movie were actualy linking Kamal hassan to the hero .:)

hehe! Mohanlal is linked to a number of heroines!! Why not Sreevidya too?

But jokes apart, I think those guys just wanted people to enjoy the fun in correlating the characters and the familiar faces
No intention of linking their actual lives, i guess..

The hero is portrayed as both Mohanlal and Mammootty. During the climax, he is shown as Mammooty (The film poster says Rudiram).

And the story is loosely taken from Srividya's lifestory. It is not a complete adaptation of her life.

IT's Renjith's movie right? He might just have done that too add an element of fiction.

And, forgive me if I sound a tad too punctilious, bro, but it's "heroine" not "heroin". The meaning gets transformed without the "e".
